Simple Fashion For All Times

Fashion is fickle…except when it’s not. For every flash-in-the-pan crop-top moment, there is a chic and timeless animal print. Here are some fashion tips from Cosmopolitan.com that will never put you out of style..

Super-Simple Fashion Combos That Never Fail

Have you ever looked at your wardrobe and just thought, God! I have absolutely nothing to wear!Of course you have. You are human, after all. Well, don't lose hope! There's fashion gold in that dark, messy cave you call a closet and it's a whole lot easier to find than you might think. Just let these 11 stylish ladies show you the way.
1. Silk blouse + slim-fit pants
Solid or printed, real silk, cotton, or polyester, there is probably a simple button-down blouse sitting somewhere in your closet just waiting to be properly utilized. The secret is all in the tuck — front in, back and sides out! Wear it with a sleek pair of fitted pants or jeans (even shorts!). With a blazer or without. With high heels, sneakers, or slides. If your tuck game is on point, you can't go wrong.

2. Black + white
You can never go wrong with pure black and white. You could get dressed drunk and blind while falling down the stairs, and if everything you threw on on the way was black and/or white, 99 times out of a hundred you would still look cool, chic, and stylish.

3. Big sweater + small skirt
Style is all about contrast and balance — the looseness of the top with the tightness of the skirt, the covered-up top with the skin-baring bottom. If the sweater reaches below your crotch, give it a little front tuck to keep the look from getting too boxy, and when it gets really cold out, add tights in a color that contrasts the skirt to keep your legs looking as long as possible.

4. Crop top + high-waisted skirt
Feel like you've heard this suggestion a million times before? Well, that's because it works! Crop tops and high-waisted skirts are universally flattering, no matter what your height, weight, or shape. Embrace the co-ord trend with a matching top and bottom, or create your own look with mix-and-match separates.

5. Long blazer + short shorts (or skirt, or dress, or romper, etc.)
I'm not talking long long. Like, not down-to-your-ankles-flasher long. Just long-enough-to-cover-your-ass long. Call it an ACB. An Ass-Coverage Blazer. Throw it over any sexy little mini-bottom-and-top combo and add an instant dose of class and style to your look.

6. Striped shirt + jeans
Is it so French, no? Oui, oui, a thousand times oui! Not only is this look totally cute and attainable no matter what your budget, but it's pretty much impossible to screw up — perfect for those days when your clothes just make absolutely no sense.

7. Short, flowy dress + killer shoes
Whatever you do, do not belt! It's just chicer this way (not to mention more comfortable), and the downward sweep of the dress helps draw attention to your fabulous shoes, be they heels, slides, or sneakers.

8. Shorts suit + T-shirt
A shorts suit isn't for work necessarily, although if you work in a creative field, it totally could be. It doesn't even have to be a real suit. Just a pair of shorts and a matching jacket (or a skirt and a matching jacket, if you prefer) with a T-shirt in there to keep the whole look from getting too stuffy.

9. A-line miniskirt + tucked-in T-shirt
This is one of the few times when a full tuck is actually preferable to the dominantly chic half-tuck you have come to know and love throughout this post. Puff your shirt out a little if it's on the looser side, but keep it tucked in tight if it's fitted through the torso.

10. Black leather moto jacket + literally anything else
This particular piece of style advice will be carved on my tombstone: There is no outfit on earth that cannot be improved with a good, black leather motorcycle jacket. When in doubt, throw one on top of whatever it is you're working with and you're good to go.

11. Top + "matching" bottom
A perfectly matching co-ord set is great and all, but it's not necessary. Close is good enough and, in some ways, it's even chicer! Mix textures, fabrics, embellishments, etc. Just keep the colors the same (or as close as you can) and you'll be totally stylin', guaranteed!

When Working Out In Summer

Are you worried on working out this summer? Uh ah!! I've read some tips on how to workout this summer day! Here we go!

Tips for Working Out in the Summer Heat

Warmer, sunny days are finally here, but after exercising in cooler Spring temps, hot and humid 80-degree days can feel overwhelming. Running, biking, hiking, even walking feels harder in the heat, so here are some tips to help you get through your Summer workouts.
Be flexible about when you work out: Become obsessed with checking the weather, and find out when temps are going to be the lowest that day. Sometimes it's early in the morning, and sometimes late in the evening, so you'lll need to rearrange your schedule to fit in exercise during the coolest time of day. A plus about morning workouts is many of your neighbors might be watering their lawns, so you can run through their sprinklers to stay even cooler.
  • Invest in some wicking clothes: Lightweight, breathable, wicking clothes are a must. They'll pull moisture away from your skin, so you really do feel cooler. Wearing a hat to keep the hot sun off your head and face also helps.
  • Take a cold shower: I know it seems a little odd to shower before a workout, but the cold water will cool you down. Leave your hair wet and pop it in a bun, so when you head outside water dripping down your face and neck will feel so refreshing. If you have short hair, carry a water bottle with you and squeeze a little on top of your head whenever you need a little cooling boost.
  • Change up the type of workout to fit the temps: On super hot and humid days, choose cooler cardio activities like biking in the wind or swimming in cold water.
  • Exercise in cooler places: Hit the trails in shady woods or along a breezy beach shoreline. It can be 10 or more degrees cooler than the sunny streets in your neighborhood.
  • Exercise in the rain: It's so exhilarating to feel a little sprinkle on your skin while out for a run or bike ride. If it's thundering and lightening, head home quick; you don't want to be out running in an electrical storm.
  • Shorten or split up your workouts: Summertime isn't the best time to push yourself, so if you can only handle 10 minutes at a time, do what you can, or exercise twice in one day.
  • Slow down your pace: If you're set on getting in a 30-minute workout, move with less intensity or do intervals to avoid overheating. Remember it's OK to take breaks too.
  • Head indoors: Now is a good time to take advantage of a monthly membership at an air-conditioned gym. Can't afford it? Burn calories by following along with fitness DVDs, jumping rope, running up and down your stairs, or doing strength training routines at home. If you need to get out, speed walk with the moms and grammas in the mall.
  • Drink water all day, not just before or after your workout: Staying hydrated will help prevent some of the symptoms you may experience from exercising in heat such as dizziness, stomach cramps, and headaches. During your run, sip four to eight ounces of water every 15 to 20 minutes.

Earth Day and Beyond

Each year, Earth Day—April 22—marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.
The height of counterculture in the United States, 1970 brought the death of Jimi Hendrix, the last Beatles album, and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” War raged in Vietnam and students nationwide overwhelmingly opposed it.
At the time, Americans were slurping leaded gas through massive V8 sedans. Industry belched out smoke and sludge with little fear of legal consequences or bad press. Air pollution was commonly accepted as the smell of prosperity. “Environment” was a word that appeared more often in spelling bees than on the evening news.
Although mainstream America largely remained oblivious to environmental concerns, the stage had been set for change by the publication of Rachel Carson’s New York Times bestseller Silent Spring in 1962.  The book represented a watershed moment, selling more than 500,000 copies in 24 countries, and beginning to raise public awareness and concern for living organisms, the environment and links between pollution and public health.
Earth Day 1970 gave voice to that emerging consciousness, channeling the energy of the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns on the front page.

Laboracay Schedules 2016

WHAT IS LABORACAY

Laboracay is a summer party celebration in Boracay. Famous artists both local and foreign often visit boracay during this time. It is marked by intense partying by the beach, lots of booze and good music.
Laboracay is usually prounounced as \'ley-bo-'ra-kay\ but if you want a more conyoticversion it's \'ley-bƏ-'rā-kā\ (ley borey key). Laboracay is not a company, it's not a sponsor, and it's not an official event (at least not yet). It's just the term people use to commemorate what's happening in Boracay in the week of Labor Day.
Laboracay came from the words "Labor Day" and "Boracay". Put them together makes "Laboracay" (Well, you don't say?! Lol!). Boracay came from the Aklanese word Boracwhich means cotton, a famous produce of the island during the Spanish era. Labor Day is a Philippine holiday celebrated on May 1 in honor of workers. It is often marked by protests and demonstrations on the streets Manila. I'm sure this is not remotely related to partying at Boracay. It's more probable that Labor Day was chosen because it's the peak of summer time in the Philippines.

Protect Your Hair This Summer

I love summer. Time for enjoying the sun. It's about swimming in the pool, lying out in the sun and hanging out with family and squads. Isn't it fun? Remember that aside from our skin, we should also protect our hair. Salt water, chlorine, humidity and baking in the sun can leave hair dry, frizzy and brittle. It's not a good look!
Here are some tips on how to protect our hair during summer.
Trim Your Split Ends
When you see split ends and dry tips, Trim it off.
Protect Your Hair Color
Before swimming, coat strands with hair products infused with complete color and UV protection to help combat the damaging effects of the sun, pool and ocean.

Always Use Conditioners

Always use conditioners to strengthen and moisturize your hair, helping repair split ends and keeping your hair frizz-free all summer long.

Wet Your Hair Beforehand

Before swimming in chlorinated or salt water, saturate your hair with clean, non-chlorinated water first. Your follicles will soak up this water rather than the damaging chlorine or salt-filled water.

Cover It Up

Tie your hair up in a scarf. It’s a chic way to protect your hair from overexposure from the sun’s harsh rays and to prevent frying your scalp. Plus, it’s perfect for minimizing tangles and knots on super windy days. Hats are another fashionable option.

Keep Products Ready and Handy in Your Beach Bag

Spritz on a moisturizing leave-in sun spray before you head out in the sun and throughout the day. They’re water-resistant and help protect against UVA and UVB rays. They’re also a great way to condition your hair while at the beach.
Drink Water!
While you may be doing all of the above to protect your hair from the sun, if you’re not drinking enough water, you’re not going to achieve anything. Your hair, and your skin, will benefit immensely from the amount of water and extra fluids that you have, so go for cooling liquids that will help keep your hair healthy and let you feel cooler. Include as many fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as you can. This is most needed for hair care for summer.

Forget What Hurt You

Are you forgetful?

Yes? Maybe.. Do you always forget your keys? Your meetings?  Sometimes we forget to greet someone on their birthdays and sometimes we even forget our passwords. How about someone who hurt you? Do you now forget them? Maybe? How about those things or circutances that hurt you so much? Was it easy to forget? NO!

Life is full of challenges. It will break us, drag us down and will take away something to us. But remember, each of it has a lesson that we need to understand and hold for our lifetime. If we're broken, we can be whole again. If we're so down, we can fly again. If something has taken away from us, there will be something new that will replace whats lost.

Forget what hurt you but never forget what it taught you.

Reason Why I Love Dogs

Dogs are awesome. Whether they’re begging for your food, barking at their leash to convince you to take them on a walk, or simply greeting you when you get home, dogs do all of the little things that put smiles on faces around the world.
Ambra Positive, Motivation & Love

Dogs are a man's best friend. We should love them because we are their world. I love dogs for so many reasons but my favorite is Dogs can mimic our emotion. Based on the tone of your voice and your body language, your dog will do its darnedest to emulate your current state of mind. When you’re sad, they’ll look at you with big doe eyes. When your angry, the fur will rise on their backs and they’ll start barking and growling at inanimate objects. Whereas humans might not respond to your emotional upswings and downswings in a way that you’d prefer, dogs will always be there whether you’re thrilled, depressed, or anywhere in between.

Love your pets!

Support Reef to Ridge!

One of the charities that I'm supporting was Reef to Ridge in La Union, Philippines.

La Union is a small strip of land bounded on the west by the sea and on the east by the foothills of the Cordillera range. The ecological tenet affirms: All things are connected. Thus whatever happens in the mountains affects the plains and seas. Whatever happens in the plains and seas impacts on the mountains and hill.
Coastal La Union has rich natural resources that can be maximized to provide food on the table of farmers, fisherfolk, women, elderly and children who are considered vulnerable to climate change.

source https://kaduami.wordpress.com

At some points in La Union it's barely 50 kilometres from the surfer's sea to the climber's Cordilleras. From the beach we can see the mountains, blue and hazy in the distance, while waves from the West Philippines Sea lap up over our feet.

It's not hard at all to realise that we are all connected...from #RidgeToReef. Not just in the lay of the land, but in the flow of water, and the activity of people.

Age-old knowledge and traditions connect generations, trade and commerce connect highlanders with coastal-dwellers, and townsfolk with their rural cousins.

Ideas help create new tribes, new communities.
The #RidgeToReef Community Market serves to highlight this interconnectedness. We do this by supporting producers, craftsmen, and tradesmen who respect and thrive on it.

Local wares, organic and wholesome produce, and more will be present at the market this weekend. There will also be workshops and performances, documentary viewings and wellness activities.

We are starting small, as we always have, but we promise to be a fun, enriching, inclusive experience for all involved.
...
Hoping to have all of you join us in being part of many more Ridge To Reef activities to come.

- Mia Sebastian (Flotsam & Jetsam Hostel)

A Definition of Success

What is your favorite bedtime story?

Fairy tale? Ghost Story? Do you still remember what it taught you? Do you still read one?
Here's a short story that will teach us that SUCCESS comes as a result of hardwork and constant effort.

The Opera Singer
One day, a train was approaching the small town of Cheekyville. On the train was a strange guy with a big suitcase. He was called William Warbler - the man, not the suitcase - and he looked very common indeed. What made him most unusual, though, was the fact that whenever he needed to communicate he did it by singing opera. It didn't matter to William whether it was simply a matter of answering a brief greeting, like 'good day'. He would clear his voice and respond,
"Gooood dayyy to youuuuuuuu..... tooOOOO!"
It wouldn't be unfair to say that almost everyone considered William Warbler a massive pain in the neck. No one could get a normal, spoken, word out of him. And, as no one knew how he made his living - and he lived quite simply, always wearing his same old second-hand suit - they often treated him with disdain.
They made fun of his singing, calling him 'Don No One', 'Poor-Rotti', and 'Lazy Miserables'. William had been in Cheekyville for some years, when, one day, a rumour spread round town like wildfire: William had secured a role in a very important opera in the nation's capital, and there were posters everywhere advertising the event. Everyone in the capital went to see it, and it was a great success. At the end of its run - to everyone in Cheekyville's surprise - when William was being interviewed by reporters, he answered their questions by speaking rather than singing. And he did it with great courtesy, and with a clears and pleasant voice.
From that day, William gave up singing at all hours. Now he did it only during his stage appearances and world tours. Some people suspected why he had changed, but others still had no idea, and continued believing him to be somewhat mad. They wouldn't have thought so if they had seen what William kept in his big suitcase. It was a large stone, with a hand-carved message on it.
The message said: "Practice, my boy. Practice every second, for you never know when your chance will come."
Little did people realise that he only got the role in the opera because the director had heard William singing while out buying a newspaper.

No matter how hard it was, If you work hard and put your constant effort surely, You will become successful.
